One of my favorite Level42 songs.
Do my eyes deceive me? Mark has a new brown Jaydee with dot inlays??? How many new bass orders did he put in over at the house of John Diggins?
They're over run with orders right now due to Mark switching back to Jaydee after Status wound up. And so it should be, the Jaydees sounded so much better.
@DangerNoodle-yw8yt I hate that Rob Green closed Status,....those basses were of the highest caliber and quality. However, the Achilles heel was those god awful Status pickups. They just sounded so thin and with no character. The Jaydee is getting a relaunch thanks to Mark bringing them back on tour. Fans have always wanted the Jaydee back for years. I believe he will probably retire the Starchild bass because of the recent issues he's had with it on tour.
I actually replaced the Status pickups in my S1 neck through with Barts and and East preamp. It allowed more careful tweaking of the mids and low end. Moreover, by boosting the mids I could pretty much emulate the classic Status S2 sound with a little more warmth. Rob's basses are marvels of engineering but his vision became integral to the brand for better or worse. He told me he didn't think basses needed massive amounts of low end for live work and I agree. By the time Rob compromised a little with the T bass and more conventional body shapes - the brand associations were already set and couldn't be stretched. @@wecanrebuildhim

my first Nightwish concert...shockingly as been my favorite band since 2004 and Nemo...you must have been close to me as i had similar view..i was N6 i think..she absolutely blew away the arena weeks after cancer op...amazing..I blew her a few kisses in thanks..amazing concert...best one ive ever been to by any band
My first Nightwish concert, third song of the set, and one where the pyro was really impressive and really hot - never expected that! Thank you for uploading this reminder of a magical night. (After Beast in Black I was explaining to my wife how Tuomas would be on our left, Kai in the middle, and Troy on the right. Was thrown when the curtain dropped and they'd switched.)
